Payout Odds of Micah Nori Being Named Next Knicks Head Coach
Earlier in the month, the Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau and the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag opened odds on their next head coach.
Mike Malone was the favorite slightly over former Villanova coach Jay Wright.
The odds then shifted and Johnnie Bryant became more than a scratch favorite to lead the Knickerbockers next season.
Bryant was with the Knicks for four years before leaving for one year to be the associate head coach of the Cavaliers.
Additionally, Jason Kidd and Ime Udoka’s name had been added to the list along with native New Yorker, Metta Sandiford-Artest.
Today, June 24, we were learning that the Knicks brought in Minnesota Timberwolves assistant Micah Nori for an interview. Nori was not even listed among the early odds to fill the team's coaching vacancy at BetOnline.
Nori, 51, has been an assistant with Minnesota since 2021 under coach Chris Finch. The Timberwolves this month denied permission for the Knicks to interview Finch for the job, sources confirmed.
Nori has also worked as an assistant with the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Sacramento Kings and Toronto Raptors.
The Knicks have now done formal interviews with three candidates -- Nori and two former head coaches, Mike Brown and Taylor Jenkins -- for the vacancy.
Brown came in at early 18-1 odds while Jenkins came in at 14-1 odds.
